Lake Garda in general: Good water quality despite harmless algal formation

The official bathing season at Lake Garda starts May, 15 and ends September, 15. Due to this year’s extreme heat, and often occuring thunderstorms, organic material like small branches or leaves ended up in the lake, they deposited and formed a white foam in some parts of the lake. This can disturb divers in particular. But immediately carried out water samples showed that the foam is a completely harmless algal formation.

Peschiera del Garda: The police controls B&B’s

To guarantee holiday makers maximum security, the police is controlling Bed & Breakfast establishments, which haven’t registered the stay of their guests at the responsible offices on time.

Salò: Restructuring measures at the primary school

The primary school, Olivelli di Salò, has been built in the seventies and is nowadays attended by more than 400 pupils. Also part of the building is the local kindergarden. Although there haven’t been any damages arising from the last big earthquake in 2004, a complete renovation of the school is now taking place to adapt the building to the latest directives and standards and to also ensure seismic safety.

Torbole: Trial operation for modern buoys – are they the future?

The modern buoys come from the United States of America, are eco-friendly and intelligent and have now been tested for the first time on Lake Garda during an event of the surfclub Torbole. The innovative buoys can be operated by the remote control of a smart phone and can therefore be easily used to mark the area of a regatta or something similar, even last minute. In a first testing procedure three prototypes have been tested. Each of them has a cost of 7000 euros and showed such good results that they will now be tested also during a sailing-event. A major plus-point of the modern buoys is that they do not need any anchoring at the lake bottom.
