Even on Lake Garda autumn has arrived. The leaves change colour and the long summerdays turn into glamorous memories. It is time for a new chapter. And it is time to look back: What did all happen this summer on Lake Garda? It has certainly been lively and colourful, also in each of the individual municipalities. In lots of different ways. From North to South every community, close to our beautiful lake, has written their own little story. Some of them we would like to briefly portay in our special three-part Summerflash:
A new soccer ground has been recently inaugurated in Arco. Besides three afternoons during the football season, it is always open for the public. On these three afternoons the local football team is training. But apart from this, the municipality is proud to have created a place for young sportive people to hang out and enjoy their sport at any given time. To prevent acts of vandalsim video surveillance has been installed.
Already since 2015 bits and pieces of the walkway along the lake in Castelnuovo del Garda have been restored. The new beautiful Lido Campanello invited for long walks. Now another section has been restored, the route from the footbridge Ronchi to Rio Dugale. A new paving and new lightings are some of the repairworks that have been made.
Costermano sul Garda is now investing 518 000 euros to improve the energy efficiency of their public sports facilities. In 2016 major works regarding quake protection have been done, remembers the mayor of Costermano. All steps in the right direction to improve the sports hall on its in- and outside making everybody benefit from it and help shape the path for the future and a healthier environment.
At the end of July the stunning and completely new “Lungolago”, the lake promenade between Salò and Gardone opened up. It connects the two localities. For its new face about 400.000 euro have been spent. The two municipalities have been colaborating closely together. They even worked out to have the same paving stone to speak the same architectural language. Everybody planning to go for a stroll in the area should definitely visit the famous stately home of Gabriele D’Annunzio.
It is one of the most stunning and most frequented footpaths in the province of Trento – and in October it will be closed down to take out important safety precautions. On of the decicive factors to undertake these works on the overhanging wall along the path, has surely been a drammatic accident where a 3 year old girl has been hit by downfalling stones on the head. The works will probably take place parallel to the realisation of the bike trail between Limone and Riva.
The Lino Turina stadion of Salò (6500 qm lightblue running tracks, 8 slopes) has already been completely renovated and is now investing in a long list of sports equipment for its qualifications: obsticals, mattresses, chronometers, weights, discus throw devices, pole-jumping systems and lots more. Everybody possesing a valid membership card of any of the sport associations of Salò will have access to the structure, even to just go for a walk. The annual fee for the membership amounts to 10–15 euros. Also required for the access is a medical certificate of health.
It is only going to take four months until the renovation works of the overhanging footbridge, which crosses the gorge of the beautiful Valle delle cartiere, will be finished. It is then going to be able to fascinate hikers and bikers.
The association Gardacliming, standing for the promotion of outdoor tourism, has been executing the project to redevelop the area. Since the 80ies the climbing wall has been abandoned and left to itself. Needless to say that it has been rarely used by climbers. This is now going to change. Very close to the climbing paradise the association has prepared itineraries for many gorgeous hiking trails. The wall itself looks towards North, which means that climbers can also enjoy it during the hot summer days. To arrive at the site it barely takes 3 minutes by foot. A cool wild stream and various picnic areas complete the idyllic scenery.
