Buying a property on lake Garda in the winter season

16 November 2015

Winter keeps us waiting this year, not only in the Lake Garda region. Even in the skiing areas the typical winter atmosphere is still missing due to lack of snow. So why don’t you make a virtue out of a necessity and use these perfect days, which almost feel like spring, for a tour of properties on Lake Garda?

Thanks to the clear, fresh air you can almost always enjoy spectacular views of the lake during the winter months. But not only the bright sky makes it a pleasure to visit properties during the winter. You can also profit from the estate agents’ complete attention as they simply have more time on their hands for each client during the quieter months and are more flexible to respond to particular requests for appointments.

As the request for properties on Lake Garda is always slightly declining in winter, due to seasonal factors, negotiations concerning the sales price often have a positive outcome for the buyer, as vendors are more likely and prepared to negotiate due to less interest in the property for sale.

After a difficult time, even the predictions for the property market are finally showing an upwards trend. It seems as if the crisis of the last seven years has been overcome. While, for the first time, during the second half of 2014 and the first half of 2015 sales are no longer decreasing, the figures for the third quarter of 2015 even show a clear move towards recovery. It will probably still take some time until the market has completely recovered, but it would be in vain to speculate on falling house prices, in particular in the popular Lake Garda region.

Therefore it would be a good idea to use the coming months to do things properly and to realize your dream of a holiday home on Lake Garda!
