This is a particular jewel among the numerous magnificent villages along the shores of Lake Garda. The idyllic harbour in particular, as well as the still existing limonaia (greenhouse for lemons) lend this village, dating from the 15th century, a special charm. For a long time, famous personalities from all over the world, such as Winston Churchill, Vivien Leigh and the Spanish king Juan Carlos, to name just a few, spent their holidays here.
Nevertheless, Torri del Benaco has been mostly spared masses of tourists; for this reason is an excellent location for a longer stay. A further advantage is the landing point for the car ferry to Toscolano-Maderno, on the Lombardy side of the lake. From the Affi exit off the motorway this pretty village with its good infrastructure is only 17 km away.
