The name of this charming fishing village, Limone, does not derive, as one could easily believe, from the word “limoni”, but from “limes” (border), as it was exactly here that the once important Republic of Venice ended. Nowadays everything in this tourist resort has to do with the juicy lemons which are grown here.
The village is primarily dominated by Germans, or rather Bavarians, which means that almost everybody – no matter where you are: restaurant, shop – speaks German. Whether you are a surfer, sailor or mountain biker – in this location sportive persons of all age groups feel comfortable.
To get to this pretty place with its narrow lanes it is best to take the Rovereto south exit off the motorway; it is about 30 km from here, then from Riva through a series of good tunnels. Banks, a post office as well as doctors and a chemist’s can be found here; the nearest larger place is Riva del Garda in Trentino.
