Manerba is quite well known for its “Rocca di Manerba”, a rocky ledge with the remains of a castle dating from the Early Middle Ages. From here one has a spectacular view over the Lago and Punta San Vigilio, on the opposite shore.
Manerba is composed of eight different small villages, such as Balbiana, Gardoncino, Montinelle, Pieve and Sorarolo, which lies further inland and is the economic centre of the borough. On the one hand, Manerba is ideal for water-sportspeople, on the other hand, for people who enjoy getting on their bikes and thus exploring the hilly Valtènesi wine-growing region in the hinterland.
Following the Gardesana from the Desenzano exit off the motorway one gets to Manerba after about 14 km. Medical care is provided for; moreover, all essentials for everyday life can be found here.
