2.178 inhabitants are distributed on the high plateau about 500 m above Lake Garda; they live in the villages of Pieve (capoluogo), Arias, Bassanega, Cadignano, Campione, Castone, Mezzema, Musio, Pregasio, Priezzo, Secastello, Sermerio, Sompriezzo, Ustecchio, Vesio, Villa, Voiandes and Voltino.
The extensive hiking region seems to be rather popular among foreigners as their percentage amounts to 21 percent and results in being the highest of all locations around Lake Garda. Everything needed for life on the high plateau is available. The old village centre of Pieve with its pretty, renovated houses is charming.
The villages are accessible via a narrow, windy road from the direction of Limone, one can also opt for the ascent from Tignale, which is less spectacular. Following the motorway one gets here from Rovereto (41 km), then via Riva and Limone.
